Mount Athos, often called the Holy Mountain, is a unique monastic state, halfway between Heaven and Earth. For over 1,500 years, it has been a spiritual center for the Christian Orthodox world, governed by its own monastic laws under the Patriarch of Constantinople. Today, Mount Athos is home to 20 monasteries (17 Greek and 3 Slavonic), along with 12 sketes and over 500 cells. About 2,000 monks reside here.

Trip Program
The pilgrimage begins in Ouranoupoli, where we take a boat to the Athonite State, arriving at St. Panteleimon Monastery, home to the revered relics of St. Panteleimon.
Next, we travel by car to the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopaidi, known for its seven miraculous icons, including the cancer-healing “Pantanassa,” the “Paramythia” icon, and the belt of the Theotokos.
We then visit Karyes, the capital of Athos, home to the Protaton Church and the “Axion Estin” icon, the primary shrine of the Holy Mountain.
Our journey continues to the Skete of Apostle Andrew, where the relics of St. Andrew, one of Jesus’ closest disciples, are kept.
We conclude at the Iviron Monastery, which holds the miracle-working icon of the Iviron Theotokos and numerous saintly relics.
The pilgrimage wraps up with a return boat trip to Ouranoupoli.

Throughout the trip, pilgrims are guided by a Christian Orthodox guide, traveling by SUV or minibus.
Please note
Visa: Athos visa processing takes up to 2 days (longer if on weekends/holidays). A passport is required. Visa applications can be rejected without explanation.
Respect: Follow the monastic rules; the guide will provide instructions.
Photography: Allowed everywhere except in temples and some monasteries.
Clothing: Neutral attire covering knees, shoulders, and arms. Head coverings as needed.
